No VIDEDO in NextPVR

I have been using NextPVR for about 3 months now using LAV decoders successfully. Starting yesterday I cannot get a picture. Everything else works OK. I tried ffdshow decoders with the same result. Using Win 10 with Ceton 6 tuners. All tuners are shown and all channels are shown. Also using SD for program guide. I see the note that LAV decoders cause problems for some but it has been working for a few months now. Hope you can help. Using NextPVR 3.6.6.

It's it just "no video", as in audio still works, or are you saying nothing works now?
ie if you do a recording, do you end up with a file that can be played in NextPVR, or played in an external player like VLC?

I get no video or audio. If I leave the NextPVR in live TV mode for several minutes it will try to display a picture with a few lines of the picture but still no sound. I have left it this way for at least 30 minutes without success. I get the same result if I try to record the show and watch it later.

I recommend SAF ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post414049 SAF is an installer that will install decoders (and utilities) that will work for any TV recording in any country. SAF will also configure NecxtPVR to use the decoders that SAF installs. Send a forum private message to Hoborg and ask for the "unlocked" version to get the "best" decoders. Does a recording play if you open the recording file (a .ts file) in some other video player? VLC player is a good choice to test recordings.

Recordings I have made before 5/6/2016 play just fine, but none recorded then or later will look just like trying to watch live TV, nothing!

It is always recommended that you upload logs so we don't have to guess. Perhaps your cableco has moved to h264 which could potentially kill live tv and recordings if you don't have a good h264 decoder.

If you try recording, do you end up with a file getting created, and can you play that file with VLC?

I have tried recording and get the same as live TV - NOTHING. I have downloaded and installed SAF 6.3.1 (UNLOCKED) and have the decoders just as shown in the forum but I still don't get but a trace of a picture and no sound. What I mean a trace, I see a few small squares of a picture on the screen after a long wait. Can you tell me where the log files are located so that I can attach them to my posts? Should I try reinstalling NextPVR?

If you ended up with a file that contained nothing, ie it was zero bytes long, then you most likely have reception issue. In this case, it'd be nothing to do with your decoders, and reinstalling NextPVR would not fix reception issues. Instead you'd need to be looking at your antenna or cables or splitters.

Find the .ts file created by the recording process that contains the recorded show. What is the size of the .ts file? What happens when you try and open the .ts file in Windows Media Player? What happens when you try and open the file in the MPC player that was installed by SAF? Please post the NextPVR logs and tell us the name of the show and the time of the recording and the time of any attempt to play the recording in NextPVR (so that w know where to look in the logs). You can create a zip file containing the logs in Settings --> About. Logs can be attached to a post by clicking "Go Advanced" and then the paperclip icon. And finally, sending a forum private message is not the same thing as posting in the forum for all to see. The clue is in the use of the word "private"
