Switch off "Newish" On Screen Controls

Would it be possible to have a toggle on off of the On Screen Navigation that appeared in the last version of NPVR.
We always use a remote for viewing - and the buttons look untidy, even for only 5 seconds that they show.
A true / false setting in config would be ideal.

Are you talking about the play/pause/etc buttons playing video/live tv? These only appear of you move the mouse. You shouldn't see them if you use a remote/keyboard.

Yes those are the ones - they definitely appear on first play in the Videos Screens with a remote - I'll double check later all the playback scenarios - and I had to hack the menu screens to remove them from the bottom of the epg screen.

The onscreen controls only show up here when I use the mouse. If I use the keyboard or remote (An HP MCE remote) then I don't see them. What remote do you have? Perhaps it is sending something that NPVR sees as a mouse command?

I checked the behaviour (and code) - they definitely only appear in response to a mouse move event arriving. You must have something connected that is generating mouse events.

Another thought: Is an optical mouse also connected to the system? I've seen those have just a little bit of jitter so that the cursor is constantly twitching back and forth, but the onscreen motion is so small that it is hard to detect. However, Windows sees a "mouse event" with every twitch.

Yep, could be something like that. Lao Pan, might be worth temporarily unplugging your mouse to see if the buttons go away.

Think I have found the culprit.

I use the AutoRefresh plugin to set the screen refresh rate for the frame rate of the video.

After waking the computer or rebooting or just restarting NPVR (I think) on the first refresh rate change, in either videos or the movies plugin (probably playing Bluray or dvd as well) the mouse cursor appears dead center of the screen which causes the navigation controls to appear (the cursor does hide after 15 seconds) - on googling it would appear that this is a feature of windows 8.1 and possibly 10. After the first time it doesn't seem to happen again until the next restart.
Stopping changing refresh rate is not really an option as the video is so juddery.

Having used NPVR for 6 years without the need for the controls I would love to have the option to switch them off to get the "theater experience" back. (a small mouse cursor is much less noticeable)
