Trouble getting this to work on ipad

I was out a while and came back and both my computers were asleep....I woke them and tried both my iphone and ipad again and they both picked up both computers. It does take a bit of time to get live tv to start but all seems to work fine again.
But, after I closed both the iphone and ipad apps I noticed in the taskbar that both NPVR icons were 'red' and checking the status of each, it showed 1 tuner active (the same tuner on each computer). Nothing would stop that tuner but a restart of the service.
Other than that, it appears to be ok. I'm at a total loss why this worked, then stopped working then worked again.

Yeah, it can take while to start live tv. Apple's player tries to buffer about 10 seconds of video before it'll start playback. Of course it takes NextPVR at least 10 seconds to capture that 10 seconds of video.

If you're wondering how live internet streams start nearly instantly - it's because those streams were transcoded before you started watching, so that 10 seconds of video is already sitting there on the web server, ready for the player for download in the next 1/2 second or so.

I'm seeing if there is anything tricky I can do about this.

I'd noticed this could happen if you suspended the app (pressed home button) while watching live tv. I've already got an updated build going through the app store review process to resolve this. In the meantime, the work around is to press the 'back' button to stop playback before suspending the app.
