HELP please - Amazon Fire TV Box, Kodi and NextPVR - can it be done?

Hi

I have an AFTV box and can get kodi loaded BUT I cannot get ANY PVR to work - I am obviously doing something wrong but what??

I have a laptop (no tv tuners installed) but thought I could use this to save my recordings but my brain is addled and I just cannot seem to get the set up ld working.

Is it possible?
Should I give up and go buy a recorder and just use that?
If it IS possible can some kid soul walk me through it please - consider I am completely useless - cos it appears I am!:o

I'm not sure there is many people that know anything about using this device in Kodi. The Kodi forums might be a better place to ask questions about it.

Did you install NextPVR and get that side of things set up before trying it in Kodi?

butchx5 what exactly are you trying to do? I think you are confusing downloading and Television PVR. PVR in Kodi requires your backend (laptop) to be running a PVR server (NextPVR) that has access to a tv tuner. The PVR functionality in Kodi allows for you to tune in live TV broadcast to you or record the live tv for viewing later.

By the way, I am using the Fire Tv with the NextPVR backend. It works quite well
