npvr won't play recorded premium shows on CW channel

My tv guide (schedules direct) indicates shows such as Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow (CW channel) are premium (has a red diagonal bar that is labeled premium for each episode of these shows). When I recorded the first episode of Supergirl, I couldn't play it back and couldn't burn it to disk (using software which I have used in the past) to watch in another room. Is this something that has been done by the networks? Does npvr really record these shows in a coded format so the rocording can't be watched? Any ideas how I could record and watch them at a later date?

You'll probably need to supply the logs showing an attempted recording so we have something to go on.

What happens when you tried to record the show? Did you end up with file on disk, with a valid looking size? Could you play it back in NextPVR, or any other player?

My TV Guide(also SD) shows a green Prem in the TV guide For Legends of Tomorrow and it stands for Premier. Curious as to what version of NextPVR you are running? What is the file size of the Super Girl episode?

As noted they are Premiere (Series or Season) so that new flag won't have a difference. Like sub said logs are required. For playback burn to DVD in 2016? If you mean copy the ts file maybe the channel has moved to h264 format.
