Just upgraded and this is what it looks like:

It's sort of hard to tell, but normally the menu doesn't take up 1/3 of the screen.

Maybe the Guide image is a better one to show just how large it is:

UI is set to Auto in Settings/General. That's all I know.

Any suggestions for making things smaller/the way they used to be?

It's not really clear exactly what you're saying. Is that guide screenshot all of your screen, or are you showing me something in the top left of the screen?

What version of windows are you using, what is the resolution, and what is the DPI/TextSize set to?

I think he is demonstrating the chunky problem.
M_ampersand_M, have you ticked settings>general>use lighter font?

How long has that been there?
Looks much better on't big screen now.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I'm not sure he is - because that wont have changed for him with this new release.

M_ampersand_M, what version of windows are you running?

Posting logs will help us know the screen size that NextPVR detects.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. To give a little more detail:

Yes, the guide shot is my whole screen (the problem being exactly that, it looks like it's just the top left area). Another example below of my full screen showing the recorded shows list:

Ah, and I was going to say it's only a problem in full screen mode, but it turns out it's "scaled" all big even when opened in just it's own window.

I'm running Windows 10 x64 with the latest updates (v.1607).

My screen resolution is 1920x1200.

I did have a thought after my original post that it might have to do with my Display setting of "Change the size of text, apps, and other items:" being set to 150%... but changing it to 100% didn't change the big upper left NextPRV problem.

I've attached a log. Apologies for not doing so originally, I was in a hurry to watch shows and then get to bed and didn't have time to be so thorough.

If you set your screen to a normal tv resolution like 1920x1080 does it help?

I notice that this mode doesn't support Direct3D either so it falls back to a new mode in 3.9.2 maybe those aren't scaled correctly.

I'm sure it's somehow to do with this, but I'm not sure why exactly. If you temporarily set it to 100%, and reboot, then start NextPVR, does it still have this problem?
