After a very long time between releases, I've attached a release a new version of USBUIRTSend.exe. This version adds learning capabilities.

I thought I'd long since lost this code, but rediscovered it when looking through my old GBPVR archive, and decided to release a new version. People still ask about it from time to time.

You can start by learning a remote with:
USBUIRTSend.exe c:\temp\some-set-top-box-name learn

Then test the blasting with:
USBUIRTSend.exe c:\temp\some-set-top-box-name 123

Thanks, I can change the channels using the cli. What are the arguments to enter under channel changer to make it work with NPVR?

Set the executable to point to USBUIRTSend.exe. Set the arguments to:

c:\temp\some-set-top-box-name {channel}

Each time it needs to change channels, it'll run that command, replacing {channel} with the number it needs to send.

Thanks Sub, I added the full path to STB definitions in arguments and It worked great. C:\USB_UIRT\DirectTv {channel} ("DirectTv" being the definition file)

Dumb question...

Is there a way to 'pad' the channel digits? I've been playing around with my STBs, figuring out how to best get them to work under HTPC control, and have found that the quickest way to get the channel to change is to input the full channel number. (Rather than sending 'enter' - which pops up a five-second info overlay...)

From memory, if you do something like this, it'll pass 0 then 0 then 1 then 2.

When setting up a blaster in NextPVR, in place of the {channel}, you can use {channel_d1}{channel_d2}{channel_d3}{channel_d4}. If you were wanting three digits, just use {channel_d2}{channel_d3}{channel_d4}

Thanks - that's what I was looking for. I'll have to give it a shot once I've gotten everything set up.

Since it can use multiple profiles, it should be a lot easier to integrate into my twin-STB setup than trying to use IRSS over USBUIRT for one and the built-in Hauppauge blaster for the other.

Out of curiosity - I don't suppose you recall how well it works in conjunction with other IR software like EventGhost or IRSS...? If I wanted to use EG to control my TV and stereo, would using USBUIRTSend to change channels on my STBs create a resource conflict?

I've never used EventHost or IRSS, and don't know anything about how they work.
