Have been having problems for a long time now and it's just got to the point where it's frustrating having to deal with.

Every morning without fail, we boot up the PC with kodi installed on it. We have it set to autostart Kodi upon start up, along with nextpvr.

Kodi boots up (17.3) and the TV programs turn on. After not too long (3-4 mins at a guess), the whole TV show freezes and we have to reboot the PC.
Upon rebooting, the same process takes place, but this time there is no freezing and we can watch the TV as normal.

I'm not certain, but I did a little bit of digging a while back and was under the impression that the EPG updates could be the cause of this. Hopefully this doesn't throw anyone off being able to help.

Secondly, (and this didn't cause a problem under Kodi 16), with the update to 17.3 we now have the TV tuners dropping off as soon as we switch modes to go to the menu screen of Kodi. The error message continually pops up, and although I haven't tested it, I believe that any recording programs at the time would fail.

Any tips would be awesome. I took a log so hopefully can see what the issue may be.

Is the PC entirely freezing, or just Kodi? ie, can you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and have Windows respond?

There is a lot of blocking going on the connection between Kodi and NextPVR, thousands of extra calls are taking place.

Code:
17:09:09.447 T:2420   ERROR: AddOnLog: NextPVR PVR Client: Socket::read EAGAIN
17:14:09.618 T:5824   ERROR: Previous line repeats 5912 times.

Have you made sure that your antivirus and firewall are allowing the connection to take place?

It's just the TV show itself. The PC is still totally usable, but to get things up and running again we need to hit start and Restart.

Not sure how to check that, but in my firewall settings I have kodi and nextpvr set to be allowed through the firewall. It's just the stock standard windows firewall.

We are running through a VPN. One curious thing I noticed just a moment ago is that the TV tuners were all lost and the TV froze up just before the VPN service said that it had all been connected. We were able to restart the NPVR recording service and Kodi and all was ok.

Is this vpn over the Internet that could explain the blocking if the pipe isn't big enough?

Just wondered if you had been able to think about this further or give me any direction please?

Sorry, no. I expect it'll work fine on a local area network, which is the environment it's intended to be run in. I suspect the network correction just isn't keeping up over TorGuard.

Your problem sounds very similar to mine. I get tuner not found after a few minutes of using Kodi.

My setup.

1. Have NPVR installed on my main PC and setup for IPTV.
2. I have Kodi installed on a Mi Box on the same network. - Trying this setup to make use of time shifting / Recording.

In my case I found that NPVR in some form stops. I think it's the service that stops.

I was just about to post this im my own thread, but thought it would better if I add.

As a test I have gone into services and went into the properties of NPVR Recording services and set the recovery options to restart if the service fail.

Will report back if that sorted me out or not.

My logs, attached.
