I'm still pretty new to GBPVR, and need a little help with the skip ahead and backwards functions. I'm using version 09.08 through the MVP. I just downloaded 09.11, so maybe this is all in vain. I love the way my DVD player will allow me to put in the time that I want to skip to in a recording (i.e. if I want to skip 30 minutes into a 60 min. recording I put in 30 and then skip). I saw a post that said if you enter the number of seconds on the number pad and then hit the skip button that GBPVR will skip ahead the number of seconds specified. For me it either only skips ahead the default number of seconds specified in the Config app or it crashes GBPVR. Any suggestions?

I think you type in 30 -> skip. I may be wrong. Try it and see

This does work in GB-PVR as stated, but it skips minutes not seconds.

I was confirming that what he had read was true (and works) except that it skips xx minutes, not xx seconds.

If you go into setup there is an option to use minutes or seconds as the base for the number skipping as well as how long the individual skips are backwards and forwards.

Are you using recordings from a DVB-T card? I think that when there is a lot of corruption in such a recording the skip function is very unreliable. I have had a problem over the last couple of days that I think I have traced to a faulty fly lead that caused bad corruption in my files. When you try to skip forward in these files you actually end up going backwards.

This post http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=6 solved it for me, or re-outputing it in hauppauge mpeg editor.

PVAStrumento is good but you may find that it does not always work. If you have problems you can also try projectX but it is a two step process as projectX demuxes the file and you need another program to remux the file. ProjectX is particularly good if you want to keep a copy of the file as it pads dropped frames and preserves audio/video synch.

Don't know where I saw that the skip was in seconds, but when I did minutes it worked beautifully. Thanks for the replies.
