I've got my system working. I watch TV, record shows, get EPG data, etc. However, I've noticed recently that a lot of my shows are only recording about 10 minutes and then it's over. I suspect it's the computer going to into standby while it's still recording. I'm not entirely sure though, but need help. I know if I'm active on the computer (preventing standby) while a show is recording, it will record the entire time it's supposed to. But if I'm at work when a recording is supposed to happen, it WILL record, but only 10 minutes or so. In the NPVR Settings->Recording, I DO have it checked "Block Shutdown While Recording". I also confirmed that setting in the config.xml file.

Custom Built Windows Server 2012 R2
Latest Windows Updates
Using "Lights-Out" Power Management
Multiple Hauppauge Digital and Analog Tuners
+4tb Free Storage
Raspberry Pi 3 Kodi Client (latest versions)
Gigabit LAN (not wireless) Connections

What is the name/time of a failed recording, so we know where to look in the logs?

American Gladiators is the most recent one. Unfortunately, it worked on today's recording so the most recent logs probably won't help. But it's on every day, and cut off the last 3 days worth.

I can see a message saying this during one of your American Gladiators recordings:
Quote:2017-08-23 12:55:33.525 [DEBUG][9] Recording service noted the system was resuming...
So something is putting your machine to sleep.

The "Block Shutdown While Recording" will try to block certain type of sleep requests, but at the end of the day, a person or software can force it to go to sleep if it wants. You'd need to find what is putting the machine to sleep and stop that happening. NextPVR only has so much control over this. This "Lights-Out" software you mention sound like a likely candidate....so dig through its settings to look for options that might fix it.

Yea I was thinking that, that's why I mentioned it. Lights-Out is a utility to help keep the system ON by allowing you to have certain overrides. It monitors other things in the system to keep it on. For instance, I have it set to look for a specific file in a specific directory to keep the server on while that file exists. Then whenever my defrag utility is running it's scans on all my drives, it creates that file in that folder, and erases it when it's done. That keeps the server ON, so it can finish the cycle. Lights-Out will also monitor other things, like network usage, cpu usage, etc. If none of the monitored sources are detected, it allows the system's built in power functions to operate.

I thought about using it to monitor for when NPVR is actively recording, but I don't know what to have it monitor for. I'd need something like a specific file or process that only exists when it's running. Another thing I can do is have it block the standby completely on a schedule, but that's not ideal since there are random times for recordings. Any suggestions?

If I knew how to program, it might be usable. I'd need to have something checking (say like every 5 minutes) that "NScriptHelper -isInUse". If it returns "RECORDING", have it create that file Lights-Out is already watching for. If it returns "NOT RECORDING", then have it delete that file. Trouble is, I don't know how to accomplish such a thing. I'm not too smart when it comes to such things, unfortunately. Sad
