Hi all,

yesterday I installed NextPVR 4.0.4 (170820) and I could import my IPTV channels.
That was working fine.

A few hours later I would go futher and while starten NextPVR I am getting the error message:

[INDENT]
Code:
Server database not found at  \\hushpc\npvr\npvr.db3
[/INDENT]

I can only click on OK, but Next PVR is not starten.
Re-Installing also did not help.

What can i do and what is that for a problem?

Thanks a lot

Nextpvr stores configuration and other data in two files config.xml and npvr.db3 ... NextPVR expects both of these files to be at C:\Users\Public\NPVR ... except ... NextPVR can run on a second (and third and ...) machine as a client and NextPVR will look for the npvr.db3 database file on another machine (the machine that has the tuners or is connecting to the IP service).

Have you ticked ... Act as Client PC ... on NextPVR Settings --> Devices ? Usually this should not be ticked.

If you still have a problem ... Press the button at NextPVR Settings --> About and attach the zip file containing the logs to a post telling us the time that you got the error so that we know where to look in th logs. Thanks.

Hi Graham,
thanks a lot for your reply.

Indead, I ticked 'Act as Client PC'. Now, I know what it means, but how can I change it?
Even a re-install is not helpen.

I was looking in C:\Users\Me\..... but then I got lost

Can you help me, how to install a clean version?

NextPVR stores the config.xml and npvr.db3 in c:\Users\Public\NPVR ... it may be that "Public" is a word in Dutch that means "not private" on your system.

You can be sure that you have done a full un-install by deleting the c:\User\Public\NPVR folder after the uninstall.

An uninstall and reinstall of NextPVR is usually not worth the effort. It is usually easier to correct the settings to get a good result.

For the "Act as client ..." option it should be possible to go back to normal operation by clicking the box so that the tick goes away.

NextPVR has two main components ... one component is the software that you see when you start NextPVR and is where you setup devices and other settings and view the EPG and watch recordings ... NextPVR also has a service running in the background that starts and stops when Windows starts and stops. Sometimes, it is necessary to start and stop the service after changes to the Settings. There are icons to start and stop the service under NPVR in the Start Menu but my personal preference is to reboot the computer. It is only necessary to restart the service if you do not get the result that you expect after a change to Settings.

I got it !!!!

The two config files are not stored in MY user profile. Not in C:\Users\ME
It was stored in a common map.

It is working again.

Thanks for the Hint Graham
