Multiple recordings of single show

This happens sporadically where NPVR records up to 25 recordings of the same show. I have attached a screen print from today. Any advise on how to prevent this in the future is appreciated.

Please attach the logs to a post telling us when you asked NextPVR to do the recording and telling us when he show was broadcast so that we know where to look in the logs. You can zip the logs at NextPVR Settings --> About. Thanks.

Will do next time. I'm actually having another problem where skip works normally sometimes and other times it loops back to a prior skip point. When it does this I restart NPVR. End result all the logs were overwritten after the multiple record episode. I will make a point to zip and post next time it happens.

I've never seen any other reports of that happening. The application will let you schedule multiple instances of a show - I suspect it's something like your remote or keyboard has sent lot of 'record' keypresses or something similar.

I have this happen to me once or twice a month, esp with my one time 'on the fly' recordings because of my Parkinson's.

I was going to make a wish list request for a popup confirmation warning or something for duplicate recording of the same program but figured sub and the other coders shouldn't have to do more work because my my quirk.

I also get these on occasion. never could figure out what triggers it.
i've even tried deleting recurring and recreating and it still creates dupe anyways..
plus it seems like it's stopping sports when they're over, even if i don't have that checked and have a ton of padding past where it stops.. and nothing else recording at the time.

I had it happen again yesterday. I was trying to figure out why my recurring recordings for college football schedules some but not all the games. I updated the epg and I changed the zap2itxml "-A" option. I ran the updateEPG bat several times while checking to see how it affected the games I was trying to autorecord. My altering the epg may be the reason it happened this time but I zipped the logs right away.

For sure that is not recommended and does generate -0 -1 etc files.

If you are trying to get a TBA game changed to the actual game details I am not sure that it is always possible. Also other users have reported problems with "live" games on zap2xml not being shown as new. Consider Schedules Direct.

I had the problem crop up again today. My computer was on and my wife was watching Netflix. I tried to start NextPVR to watch the news and it wouldn't open. I had to reboot the computer, it then rebooted itself a second time then I opened NPVR. 52 recording of college football. I like football but not that much.

Was this originally recorded as a season recording, or a one of recording?

Was it made from the TV Guide, or web app, or 'Manual Rec' button, or a client like Kodi/Emby?

Can you see these large numbers of multiples listed on the Recordings->Pending screen in NextPVR? If you hit 'Update EPG' button do the extras go away? If not, supply your npvr.db3.
