I'm running NextPVR happily using a single IPTV device. However the EPG XMLTV url provided with my IPTV feed only supports a 24 hours EPG. I have taken out a trial subscription to Schedules Direct. When I attempt to perform the channel mapping manually it fails to map the first channel correctly. Also fails the the second. Then the bulk channel mapping fails to map any channels at all.

I have selected Freesat from Sky - Cable (GBR-1002100DEFAULT) as my EPG lineup.

Has anyone successfully used Schedules Direct with auto mapping?

It'd only be able to auto map the channels for you if they channel names match exactly. If they don't match, NextPVR has no way to be able to tell which channel match which in the EPG.

Thanks for the update. I suspected as much.

I don't suppose you of any alternative sources of a seven day EPG for cable/satellite channels?

You might be able find an xmltv source with listings for these channels, but you'd still need to have the exact channel names for the mappings to be able to happen automatically. Unfortunately IPTV providers usually screw with the names, prefixing stuff etc. Unfortunately, without some information in common between the two, like name, then there is no way for NextPVR to do it automatically for you.

You can manually map the channels to a Schedules Direct EPG source (or xmltv), but admittedly that is a pain in the butt if you're having to do it for more than a handful of channels.

Maybe try asking your IPTV provider - they might have an alternative EPG source with more days of listings.

Thanks again. I have already spoken to the IPTV provider who claims that all users are happy with 24 hours EPG. This one isn't and will be looking elsewhere for a service come renewal time.
