Hi,

I have a Lifeview Walker mini USB tuner and am trying to make it work with the GB-PVR. Apart from the problem of not working yet (Live TV is black...but this might be me not using it right), I have noticed that there is no option to select the Walker in the Tuning Assistant. All the other choices end up with a report of a mistake and a frozen Assistant.

Is the Tuning Assistant just not compatible with the Walker or might this be due to something else?

Thanks!

[WIN 2000, GBPVR09010, Walker drivers 1.6]
(will try the newest GB-PVR version in a few days..)

No, the Tuning Assistant is not compatible with GO7007SB devices (like the TV Walker), but dont worry because you dont need it. It doesnt perform any required function.

I've got this card (Packard Bell) and it works great for me. For my regular programmes I record straight to DIVX, otherwise Mpeg2 if I want to save it to disk. - You'll have to find out what channel numbers you need to match your local transmitter. If you don't know, you might find it on your Tv. Go to any channel, then select the Menu button and look for 'Manual Tune'. Usually this gives an indication what the tuning is for this particular channel (ie BBC1 = 57 or ITV=60 etc)

When you've got these, go to the GBPVR config menu, select capture source then edit your Tv card config. Assuming you've done an EPG update, then type the channel numbers for each channel where it shows the 'source channel' heading. Then click Ok.

I think the original software that came with the Walker will also show the channel numbers that it found channels on.

Thank you all. It is nice to know that the Tuner Assistant is not meant to be used with the Walker (saves time of agony).
Now I set the channels by hand. And (with the latest version) I can see that it works. Before I could not.

Yes, but the channel numbers are not the same in my case  However, the order is the same of course, and this helps.

I have also noticed a strange thing: the Live TV was shown very slow, a frame every 2 seconds, as it was already reported in another thread.. But the recording works perfectly. BUT BUT: after the recording, the Live TV also runs smooth!!
OK, this is not tested properly yet, since I also ran the Lifeview software a few times before and after the recording. But I will test this phenomenon and will report about it in an appropriate thread. (I have very limited time to play with this...)
