Currently in the Settings->Channels->Groups dialog, dragging a channel to a group list on the right adds the channel to the end of the list. Unless channels are added sequentially when the group is created, subsequent additions will appear out of order in the guide.

Can the drag & drop operation be enhanced to allow the new channel to be dropped on a group channel and added to the group just before that channel? Or maybe a "re-sequence" group button?

Thanks...
Later...JohnC

The channel order always ends up being based on the channel number. It'd be a relatively big job to be able to order them based on something else other field we don't currently have.

What jcole says is correct - if adding a new channel to a group in Settings->Channels->Groups, the newly added channel stays at the bottom of the list and is not re-ordered in the list based upon channel number. The newly added channel can be manually moved to the correct spot in the list based upon channel number, but is not done automatically.

How does one manually move a channel in the group list?

What I do, using a mouse, drag the new channel to the location in the list where I want it.

That was one of the first things I tried. No joy. Are we talking about moving channels within a group in the Channel Groups dialog? I can highlight an entry but cannot move it, only remove it.

Is this the dialog you're talking about? You can move channels within the group on the right side of the dialog? Is there some setting that needs to be turned on?

I just tried it again and it works for me.........

OK, 2leftfeet. We're on the same page. Not sure what I can do. I'll keep using SQLite to re-sequence by channel number.

Thanks for the help.

Sometimes, when I have a lot of such changes, I simply make a new group, put the updated channels I want in the new group, then delete the old group - sometimes easier than moving around a bunch of channels - just an idea.

Also, the if using the Kodi client, Kodi automatically reorders the channels for you in numeric order (doesn't touch the npvr order).
