Hi, my first post and I'm in need of help! Sad

For many years, I've used NPVR, without any major problems. My current configuration is a Vista box with two DVB-T cards: Hauppauge Win TV MOD7700 DVB-T and TBS 6281 DVB-T2 - this had worked fine for over 12 months, till last night, when I attempted to record several programmes that were broadcast on HD and SD (H264) channels. Once the recordings had finished, NPVR would then report a failure as follows, "No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal" and when I check the relevant folder(s), there is a zero byte file.

Before posting, I searched through the forum and tried some of the solutions that had worked for others - disabling the firewall, deleting the tuners and rescanning and also a complete purge of NPR from the computer and then reinstalling the latest release. None of this troubleshooting has made any difference. Can anyone offer any pointers please? I have of course, attached my logs. Smile

Thanks!

I know there have been frequency changes in some areas of the UK recently. If your HD frequencies have changed, you'll get exactly the behaviour you describe.

Personally, I'd probably just delete those channels then rescan to re-add these channels.

London did have a re tune in the last week or so to do with the 700Mhz clearance so lots of problems reported on Freeview forums! The two temporary MUX Com 7 & Com 8 have been moved into the 700Mhz band until 2020. The problem is that most of London like the area I live in use frequencies in the range 470Mhz to 570Mhz so many people have a Group A aerial which is useless to pick up signals in the 700Mhz range. Most so called Wideband aerials have little gain at the lowest frequency (channel 21) so many people kept their Group A aerials. I have lost all channels on Com7/8 but as I have a twin DVB-S/S2 tuner I have another source for the majority of the "lost" channels from Freesat. I did consider getting a Log Periodic aerial which is a true wideband aerial but is it worth it if as the two Mux will disappear around 2020!
NextPVR Server - HP N54L Microserver, Windows 10 - Storage 2 X 3TB - Tuners DVBSky S952 Twin DVB-S/S2 PCIe, Hauppauge Twin DVB-T2 USB, Telestar Digibit R1 Sat>IP Server.
Clients:- 2 X RPi3, 1 X RPi4 and Acer RL80 Celeron Nettop all running NextPVR New Client on LibreElec.

You will need to put the Tuning ini for Crystal Palace from this thread https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post522036 (If that is where you get your Freeview signal from) into C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T

If you use a different Transmitter let me know and I'll look up the changed frequencies and produce the correct ini.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Has the tuning details been updated since the frequency change? I had to use all regions to get COM7 and 7 back in London.

In this thread https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...tune-ini-s on the 9th and 10th of March I posted all the updated Tuning Information (ini) for the first half of this year (and last year) - instructions for use in the first post of that thread.
If you had used the updated ini on the 21/03/2018 you should have got all the channels - if your aerial is wideband. (COM7 & COM8 are now out of band for original Crystal Palace Aerials)

One thing that caught me out to start with is you have to start the re-scan by re-selecting [United Kingdom] in the dropdown list to load any new ini's followed by, for example, [London - Crystal Palace(Mar 21 2018)] in the Region/Transmitter list - I have put the expected retune date in the ini and the file name to avoid any confusion.

Thanks for all the replies! Smile

I've downloaded the Crystal Palace ini file and copied it into the Tuning folder but how do I now get NPVR to use the ini?

Please excuse my ignorance here, as the method I've always known is to scan for channels on each tuner.

If you've got multiple tuners, the best way is to go into the tuner settings all but one of the tuners, and delete the channels. Then go into that first tuner and rescan. The go into the second (and subsequent tuners), and accept it's offer to copy the channels from the existing tuner.

The quick option is go to NextPVR Settings --> Devices ... Select the Country and Region where Region is Crystal Palace with the recent date ... and scan. Repeat for all tuners.

The quick way may give you some orphan channels that duplicate old versions and point to old frequencies.

What worked for me was to go to NextPVR Settings --> Devices and select each device a delete all channels in each device. I then selected the Country and Region and scanned for one tuner. As I selected Device Setup for each subsequent tuner, NextPVR offered to copy the configuration and I clicked Yes.

I forgot to update the thread!

I've followed the suggestions and everything is now working fine. Thanks so much for the help! Smile
