nextpvr backend not working

Downloaded nextpvr.Cannot fully install.Following message

Would appreciate any help to resolve problem.

I have once or twice seen this message ... but NextPVR seems to install and run correctly after the message.

Simply stated, NextPVR has two main components ... the front-end that you see on screen that you use to change Settings and to view the EPG and to set and watch recordings ... there is also a NextPVR service that runs continuously in the background that initiates recordings. The installer tries to start the NextPVR service and sometimes gets in a pickle with it.

My suggestion ... re-boot and carry on as normal with NextPVR.

On Windows Server 12 I get this message every time, likely because server control is not quite the same as on desktop version., but as Graham it does not seem to affect my install but I do check that the server is in fact running.

I am running Windows 10.
On the Devices setting the only option is IPTV IPTV DEVICE Present-Yes Enabled -Yes Channels-1

Do you have a hardware tuner? It might be that you are planning to use NextPVR for IPTV and not use a hardware tuner. For IPTV, you will need to go to NextPVR Settings --> Devices, select the "IPTV device" and setup the "device" with information from your IPTV provider.

I do not have a hardware tuner.
On the nextpvr help video there are 4 options to choose.
Unfortunately I only get 1.That is IPTV.This does not work.

Which NextPVR video?

A person with no tuner hardware would only have the IPTV options. If you had a tuner, then you would have other options listed.

Where are you trying to get your video from? From the Internet (IPTV) or from a tuner connected to your PC?

Before installing NextPVR it is worth checking your hardware is up to the job and the Windows environment is prepared.

Minimum System Requirements
Pentium 4 or AMD 1.4 GHz CPU.
512MB RAM or greater.
A modern video card.
Large Hard Drive for recorded shows and other media.
(optional)
Tuner Card.
Remote control.
IR blaster.
A faster machine may be preferable if you wish to have several processes running at the same time, for example, recording one show while watching another, and then transcoding or running commercial detection processes in the background.

Software Requirements
Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008
Microsoft .NET Runtime v4.0.
Windows Installer v3.1 or later.
DirectX 9.0c runtimes.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtimes.
Windows Media Player v9 (if running Windows 2000 or some editions of Windows Server).
Most of these support files are kept updated via Windows Update.
This explanation is not clear enough for a person that has not done this before.
