UK ITV3 has changed frequency from COM4 (690000) to PSB2 (738000) ... frequencies are for Mendip transmitter.

https://www.a516digital.com/2018/03/itv3...eview.html

I re-scanned and finished up with two channels called ITV3 and both as channel number 10 ... The log of the scan is attached. Nothing is being broadcast for ITV3 on the "old" frequency. The end result was a mucked up channel list with lots of un-merged ITV3 channels.

I captured the full stream of the "old" frequency with TSCapture and that is at ... https://www.dropbox.com/s/a9eiwlup7uvxpx...e.zip?dl=0

TSCapture showed the channel number of the old ITV3 as 788 (or thereabouts).

For completeness, There are also duplicates of TruTV and Sony Crime Channel in the scans ... the two digit channel number versions are broadcasting and the three digit channel number versions are not broadcasting.

Bugger ... I didn't think it through and forgot that muxes are on different frequencies on different transmitters ... I've edited the original post.

Oh the fun of the UK move towards SFN (NOT!)
More to come I'm sure :-)

I did hear a rumour that the ITV3 changes herald a small improvement in picture definition in some areas.

ITV3 has been transmitting on both COM4 and PSB2 since the start of February but they just switched off the original COM4 signal. I think I switched over several weeks ago ---- or did I so I had better check!

Did NextPVR cope well or did you get duplicated channels or other weird stuff when the scan found the same channel twice?

I did a rescan a couple of weeks ago and had ITV3 in both 10 and 788 - when 10 stopped working today I went to settings/channels, selected 10 and deleted it - I then double-clicked on 788, changed the number to 10 and OK'd it. I didn't need to rescan, but I did delete all my ITV3 pending recordings and then re-added them.

Having done a rescan, so 10 is the new 720x576 version of ITV3 on PSB2 and 788 is the old 544x576 version on COM4, you *may* end up with two lots of listings for ITV3 in the EPG. If you set any programmes from before the rescan, or you've got any series record entries, there is a 50:50 chance that you'll end up recording from the version that jsut displays a retune message.

When the 720x576 version was first announced, I took several preventative actions: I renamed the two channels from "ITV3" to "ITV3 720" and "ITV3 544" to make it clear to me which channel a scheduled recording was using; I set the EPG source for "ITV3 544" to "none" so its listings would be blank, so that if I found any programme by its name in the EPG, it would be guaranteed to be recorded from the 720 version.

Now that the higher-res PSB2 (720x576) version is on 10, I've deleted the old channel 788 from my list.
