Recorded programming doesn't update on Kodi

I have three RPi devices running LibreElec v8.2.4 (Kodi 17.6). I will start a recorded show on one TV, then move to another room and try to resume the show. However, I have to disable and re-enable the NextPVR plugin and have it re-down load the EPG channels and content before I can resume the show on the different TV.

This is not new. I posted something similar to this a couple of years ago when I first started using NextPVR. If I remember correctly, the answer was to try X-Newa, but I could never get it to work, so I've always stuck with the default NextPVR plugin.

I don't know if there is a setting somewhere that I need to adjust, or to set or to tweak? Something within either Kodi, the plugin or on the NextPVR server? I would think that there should be a daemon somewhere that runs that would keep checking in with the server to see if there are any updates. Perhaps there is something that I need to enable? Its just getting old having to disable/re-enable the plugin, so I can resume watching what I was watching.

The addon sends a request to the server ever 60 seconds to see if there have been any updates. If so, it'll reload the recording list.

Post a kodi.log, with debug logging turned on and we'll check.

I have the same issue, I will grab logs next time I notice it. For the moment I installed the watchdog addon which gets around the issue.

Post a kodi.log, with debug logging turned on and we'll check.

If it is just a resume point that changes will that trigger an update?

Ah, sorry - I only really skim read, and fixated on "Recorded programming doesn't update on Kodi" and thought I knew the exact questions to ask.

It only really notices changes to recordings such as scheduling/stopping/cancelling/deleting. Playing a recording on a machine isn't enough to trigger Kodi to reload the recording list.

You can try this patch - it tries to flag Kodi to reload the recordings when an updated playback position is stored for a recording. It could still take a minute or so for other Kodi clients to notice and reload.

Martin is correct. Its during the play back of the recorded programming that doesn't update on the other pi's. And I apology for not getting back sooner to this posting, a lot on my plate and I just now had the opportunity to check it.

Belay that last posting. I just tried it again, and the patch is NOT causing the programming to hang. I just tried it again, and right now, it seems to be playing just fine. I'll check to see if the other TV's update as I hope and report back.

Previously, you mentioned turning on debugging. Were you talking about Kodi debugging, or NextPVR debugging? If it was NPVR,where do I enable that at?

I was meaning in Kodi. It has an 'enable debug logging' setting.
