My ios app works when i'm on the home network or when i vpn in. However, when i log in using my external ip pointed to the port, the app logs me in but nothing is populated. and when i press tv guide, the app quits/crashes. what might be happening?

Have you got 'Allow Remote Access' ticked on the Settings->Clients screen?

You'll probably need to post the logs showing the attempt.

It looks like you have the incorrect pin set for that server.

Keep in mind, the stored pin is ignored when you login from the local network. The pin is only really used when you connect remotely... (so the fact it works from the local network isn't telling you you've got the correct pin entered)

Never mind. I removed the server and readded it and that solved it.

I am in a similar situation as the OP. Zero issues using iOS app on my network. However, when connecting remotely I see channels, recordings, tv guide, etc menus on the bottom but nothing populated. The PIN you are mentioning is the Application Access PIN? Where to enter the PIN on the iOS device to match the Application Access PIN?
