XMLTV supports a "genre" tag and NextPVR stores the genre data for each show. I don't use genres so I am not sure what you can do based on genres within NextPVR.

NextPVR supports this, but it's on a per-show basis. He wants something on a per-channel basis, which creates channel groups.
