NextPVR with Emby Show Banners/Metadata

Hi

I am using NextPVR via Emby as the front-end. When I view items in the EPG, or live TV, or stuff I have recorded, for most shows, an image has been downloaded to represent the show. I am wondering whether its Emby thats getting this data or NextPVR? In Emby, where an image to represent the show has not been downloaded, it gets replaced with an tiny 'image not found' icon. I am wondering if there is a way to simply replace this with say the channel logo, or even a transparent png so that nothing shows in Emby? Additionally, is there a way after EPG dowload to preemptively pull ALL show icons/banners for everything in the EPG? EG to prevent the pregnant pause while an icon/banner gets downloaded after first viewing the show detail from the EPG?

Also, SchedulesDirect has been recommended to me for UK EPG data - does anyone know whether this supplies NextPVR's EPG feature with just textural data, or whether it also includes rich EPG info - eg thumbs/images for the shows?

If it's showing up in NextPVR, then it should also be accessible to Emby using the API. If one of the Emby guys can tell you what call is failing (or you can run the web browser development tools to see the failing call), then I can help you diagnose why it's not working

No, none of the artwork sources would allow this. In the UK, finding artwork for a show is a fairly expense search operation, and if I had to this for the thousands of shows in your guide, and several thousand other users did the same thing, the artwork services would quickly ban my application from using their service. Instead the application demand loads artwork for just the shows you view the details of, or schedule recordings for.

OK so its NextPVR rather than Emby thats doing the artwork download. Yep, got you on the pre-emptive download thing. Its fine like it is.

Emby DOES show artwork where NextPVR shows artwork, the 'image not found' icon in my above screenshot, is displayed by Emby when NextPVR has no artwork for the same show. It must be an Emby (or Emby NextPVR plugin) issue. It just looks a bit naff, but that is not NPVR's fault.

If NPVR was to supply a single pixel transparent PNG, or fixed artwork for any show where there was no artwork downloaded, or have an option just to use the channel logo instead, I guess Emby would get its artwork and hence not display the 'image not found' icon.

I also use Emby as the front end for NPVR. It's fairly easy to put whatever artwork you want in the Emby app. I just did this for The Chase (ITV) which NPVR records for me. You can get the artwork you need from TVDB.
