Hello everyone,
I have graduated up to wanting to export/import recordings. I am using 4.2.4. I am using the export recordings and it says the number of recordings I am transferring has been exported to the recording.backup.xml file. When I go and delete the recordings within NextPVR and then try to import them I get nothing. It says no recordings imported.

Would anyone have any ideas?

The recordings xml includes a path to the recording file. Do the .ts files still exist in that location? ie, it'll only import recordings that point to files that actually exist.

Well I thought I was doing it right. To test I did an export. Deleted the recordings. Then reinstalled them in the same folder they came from. For whatever reason it will not import.
P.S were you able to look into the bug I think I may have found within 4.2.4 where I am unable to edit a IPTV channel name?

Thank you for you time.

You probably have to clear the deleted history table prior to importing to do the test that way.

NextPVR.exe -removehistory

Would someone be so kind as to give me a detailed account on how they would go about exporting recordings from one DVR and then import them into another DVR. I seem to be missing something. Just cannot get it to work out for me.

I would be most appreciative.
Thank you for your time.

The only really important thing is that the filenames in the xml files need to be correct. ie, if the first DVR (that exported) had a file called c:\some\directory\recording.ts, then it needs to be in that exact same location, with same name, when you import it on the second DVR. (otherwise it'll skip importing that recording)

I want to move all my recordings to another drive. Is there a way to do this without using the"archive" function and archiving each one individually one at a time? Like a script or batch file to scan all the files? The import/export function doesn't seem to help with this. How does exporting a list of recordings with old data help? Shouldn't you be able to specify where you are exporting to? The only thing I can think of is to "export" to get the current locations and then do an edit global find and replace with the new location, then "import" the edited file. If I'm missing something please let me know.

Yep, you should be able to do that.

If you are comfortable with sqlite copy over you old database and run

Code:
update scheduled_recording
set filename = replace(filename,"C:\OldFolder","K:\NewFolder");
