I would like to merge my channels sd/hd channels together as it makes my epg look untidy and have duplicate channels showing ! for example bbc2 sd and bbc2 hd. if i were to merge these together is there away to make hd channels to have proirty first ?

The scheduling priority is done by tuner not by channel. So, if you have both channels available on the same tuner, you would want to delete the SD version from than tuner. Then you would prioritize the tuners so that the tuners which have HD versions available are higher in the list.

This scheme will work if all of the HD versions are on the same tuner(s) and the SD versions are on different tuners. But, if the SD & HD versions are mixed between the tuners it won't. For instance say you have something like Tuner A has Channel 1 in HD and Channel 2 in SD and Tuner B has Channel 1 in SD and Channel 2 in HD. If you prioritize Tuner A then Tuner B, and only schedule 1 recording, then Channel 1 will record in HD, but Channel 2 will record in SD. And if you prioritize Tuner B then Tuner A, then Channel 1 will record in SD and Channel 2 will record in HD.

Also, keep in mind that with NextPVR, the tuner initial scheduling as well as the final selection of tuner is quite complicated and will sometimes not do "what you want" or "what you think it should do". Factors like honoring padding requests, and multirecord (where possible) can produce unexpected results.

If you give us more information about your particular setup (exactly what tuners you have and what type of channels they're getting), we can better advise for your particular situation.
