OK, more comic nerd discussion. I have created a container in Synology and am not sure what to do next. I've used Putty to log into my NAS and input:
docker run -d \
--volume /home/pi/config:/config \
--volume /home/pi/videos:/recordings \
--volume /home/pi/videos:/buffer \
--publish 8866:8866 \
nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64:latest

I get a Volume: command not found. So, I had 2 beers and came back to try and nerd this out. Youtube my arse off and still I just don't seem to get it. I'm going to have to send sub more
another donation for helping me get my nerd on!
Terminal in Synology doesn't seem to work at all.

Synology shows NPVR has been running for over 5 hours (yes, I've been trying almost that long before embarrassing myself) I can't login using port 8866.
Synology logs attached.

Maybe try running it all on the same line:

docker run -d --volume /home/pi/config:/config --volume /home/pi/videos:/recordings --volume /home/pi/videos:/buffer --publish 8866:8866 nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64:latest

No go. Obviously I've either missed a step. So, I'll keep trudging on.

In that log it did look like it had started. I wonder if it's got a firewall or something that needs to have 8866 opened?

But that port has worked for NextPVR 4. I even shut down v4 just to be sure there was no conflict.

Was NextPVR v4 running on the Synology though? Should be a different device, and it may have it's own firewall. You're definitely putting in the correct address?

Are you typing the IP of your nas?

No, only recordings are going to my NAS in V4.

Yep, that was the easiest part. Smile

Got a QNAP NAS too, maybe I'll see how that works out this weekend.

When you tried the browser url, did you explicitly try including "index.html" on the end? A couple of people have reported that the couldn't get to the app unless they explicitly included this.

http://<synology-ipaddres>:8866/index.html

ie, http://<address>:8866 works here, but some have required http://<addres>:8866/index.html
