As the title suggests. You mentioned that it was open source but I can't find any source. I want to make a client for my 89 y.o. MIL that will only play the two or three channels that she actually wants to watch without having to wade through the other 60+ channels to find it. No layers of menu to wade through, no place she can get lost. Press channel down, it goes to the next channel, press left, it goes to the next channel, press OK, it goes to the next channel. Press any key at all and it goes to the next channel... It is so painful to teach her how to use firety + netflix (which she loves) over and over again. My main interest is seeing how to use c# + libvlc to play the content then add v5 calls to the linux backend.

I have been keeping a copy on GitHub but I haven't gotten around to uploading the latest sub posted. However nlite provides no way of changing the client it is a UI client that is an image copy of the traditional Windows UI.

May be just create a custom channel group that contains just the three channels.

Goto Settings > Channels and click the Groups button. Using the popup Channel Groups window, click on the Add button to create a new channel group. Then drag the 2-3 channels from the left side to to the right side into the newly created channel group. Start NextPVR and on the menu select TV Guide. Move the cursor to the top of the menu bar and click on Group. The drop down list should show your newly added channel group. Double click on that group name and now that channel group becomes the default channel list.

UI clients create there own conf files, I am not sure the default group is one of the things that can be configured, this might need to be done manually.

For the next build of v5, I've made this setting client-specific.

Maybe that would be easier with libcec?
