Hello:
I’ve searched the forums on this and have not found the answer. I use a combination of Schedules Direct and XMLTV entries for the EPG. Everything works normally. However, when I export the channels, the XML has the string “amp” appended to the EPG line between the user name and password sections. Sometimes there will be 2 or 3 repetitions of “amp” and this causes issues when I try to import back in the channel list.

For example:
<source>XMLTV</source> <file>http://test.com:80/xmltv.php?username=user&password=12345</file>
Becomes:
<source>XMLTV</source> <file>http://test.com:80/xmltv.php?username=user&amp;amp;amp;password=12345</file>

Does anyone have any idea what is happening? It’s hard to search forums for a short string like “amp” as these search functions usually disregard short entries.

Thank you.

I saw that in a users files a few days ago and I wondered what might have caused it. I'll take a look at the export to see if I can find the cause.

I've found the cause. I've fixed it in both v4 and v5. It actually related to the Import, double escaping the xmltv url. We didn't notice this earlier because very few IPTV providers require a username/password for the xmltv url, so EPG updates were happening fine anyway.

Here was the v4 patch. It'll only help when you initially import the channels though. (ie, it wont fix files that were already exported containing broken urls)

Thank you very much for the quick response. I will try that patch.
