Don't seem to be getting AC3 audio

I don't seem to be getting AC3 audio anymore. I'm using HDMI for both video and audio. I used to use Component/SPDIF. Shows that show as "Dolby" on the FIOS STB seem to record as AAC LC according to Mediainfo. I've checked setting on STB and they look fine. I can go back to SPDIF if needed, but really don't want to. Latest NextPVR version, windows 10 1903, Colossus 2 with latest driver. Any ideas? This is a new system with a new install of NPVR. Possible I just forgot something.

When you posted about 1080p https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post538466 you didn't have AC3 output. I remember shspvr posted about this registry setting https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthr...stcount=21 not sure if that will make a difference or why Hauppauge hide it.

Thanks, yeah, I think I saw that one. However, I KNOW I used to get it with Component/SPDIF and I never messed with a registry setting. I've seen some stuff here and there that getting it to work with HDMI is sometimes an issue. Not sure why as it seems to work fine on my Home Theater setup. All else fails, I'll try going back to SPDIF. Wonder if that will work with HDMI video? What about the FORCESPDIF? Does that have anything at all to do with HDMI audio? I would think not.

OK, I connected toslink from STB to Colossus2, Settings>Devices and changed all channels to (HDMI,SPDIF). Made a quick test recording and I now have AC3 audio in the recording. There may be a tiny sync issue between video and audio, not positive. This could be due to the splitter needed for HDMI to work. If I can't live with this, I'll have to go back to component.
I did the registry hack mentioned above (after the above test), went back to (HDMI,HDMI) and got AAC again, so this does not seem to help. Also set FORCESPDIF to true with no help. I'm going to leave it setup for SPDIF for now as it seems to be the only alternative for getting AC3 audio in my recordings.

I did more testing and looking related to this . Tuns out that my STB, Arris IPC1100P2 (Verizon FIOS) will not send Dolby Digital via HDMI Audio. This is true no matter what you set on the STB either in the FIOS menus or in the Arris menus. There is complaining in the FIOS boards about this from folks with Home Theaters. So, I'm sticking with SPDIF. This post is just in case someone else runs into this one.
