Scanning For Local Channels

Installed with the Hauppauge 1255 card on Ubuntu 18.04. When I scan for channels, my area isn't listed. I'm in the Washing DC area but it's not listed, closest is Philadelphia and I'm not getting all the channels in my area.

For schedules Direct use a zip code closer to DC and contact Schedules Direct they may have issues with their zip code database.

Reinstalling and scanning using the two US frequencies and the Philadelphia one got all the channels, but the guide didn't work.

Honestly, if you try to use xmltv rather than the built-in Schedules Direct support in the USA where SD works so well, you're just asking for unnecessary headaches. It's just not worth it.

It doesn't currently use the broadcast EPG, since it's this is next to useless in the states (only a few hours of listings).

How do you use xmltv in Linux?

If you've got a xmltv file on your Linux server, if you click the settings on a channel in the Settings->Channels screen, and add an xmltv lineup, set the path to where the file is on your Linux box. After that, on the Settings->Channels screen click Advanced Tools, use the Automap feature to have it have a go at mapping them automatically for you.
