How do you open a thread at the "First Unread" position?  All I can find now is to click the name of the thread, which always kicks me to post #1.  Then I have to scroll through and try to figure out which posts I've already read, in order to read the "new" ones.  Sad
The last post link is was I use to go to the bottom instead of the top.

Yes, but it'll likely be replaced with something else. The wiki software was very old, and I was worried about security issues with it. Also, with the significant changes in v5, a lot of stuff in there was no longer correct.

@sub Have you considered checking out DocFX for the online manual of NextPVR it may not be a wiki. However its documentation can still be contributed to in a similar fashion to a Wiki.

To best use it you would need to setup a GitHub repository or alternatively a GitLab repository to contain the documentation markup files and other required resources. You would need to learn the mark-up language used by the software when parsing the files to be used for the documentation.

People would be able to do what you can normally do with the source code of software for the documentation. You would also be able to better handle multiple contributions coming in concurrently.

Another alternative would be to check out Wiki.js a modern more powerful system of implementing a wiki built utilising Node.js, there's more security options with this modern version. So could be well worth a look at the very least.

@Everyone What are your thoughts on my suggestions in regards to the offline wiki for consideration by sub?

I liked and still like the choice of PmWiki (not sure what the security concerns are beyond keeping software current) for two reasons, simple moderation and easy markup, it is a wiki so it is supposed to have relatively simple user security and a big one a simple flat file database so sub can transport it from server easily and backup/restores are simple and doesn't need to run a database server.

Could it be down to handling what can be done where, as some submissions may be inappropriate or unwanted. In other words some content may be down to sub and/or site team to maintain (for an appropriate reason). Also a thing about Node.js is that it is highly scalable and capable of asynchronous operations. The modern wiki is capable of handling 2Factor Authentication (Multi-factor Authentication) so people's accounts can be made more secure.

Also certain articles could be protected from certain users while still allowing others to be able to edit them. Therefore enabling the possibility of protecting an article which is regularly attacked with malicious intent, though there's trusted non-admin team users who wish to maintain the article.

This means that the documentation will be able to handle a much larger documentation user (and contributor) base, so with NextPVR going cross platform your user base is about to explode. In other words grow massively once NextPVR v5 goes stable.

Yeah so do I ......BUT it is still a pain going back up the thread to find the first unread message, especially when it has rolled the page Sad

The other problem I am having is the font size for the message body text seems to be smaller than the old forum as I have trouble reading it at times... but at other times it seems fine... mostly my old eyes I guess but it didn't happen with the old forum.

I've bumped the size up a smidgen.

I'm finding some documentation that indicates there should be a green arrow next to threads with unread posts that will take you to the first unread post.

I also found this https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?action=view&pid=116 that gives an unread posts counter at the top and a couple of other unread posts indicators/options.
