As you will have noticed, we're now running different forum software. I liked the old vbulletin 4 software, but it was no longer being updated, and starting to become a security liability.  I looked at various options forum software, and opted to go with mybb, which I've found decent on the kodi forums.

I've imported what I could from the old vbulletin site. Its only really the attachments which weren't copied over...the vast majority of those were just logs, so no great loss.

It'll take a little while to get used to the new forum, but it should be able to do most of the same things. Some of the things it does much better than vbulletin.

I've picked a theme that is more mobile-friendly.

Hi,

Thanks for the update.

I recently discovered "Discourse" on another forum (https://www.discourse.org/) and i found it great.

Some issues :

-Suscribe to thread action display an error page (but it seems to work) :
"Not Found
The requested URL /usercp2.php was not found on this server."

-No advanced reply ?

This should be working now.

What do you mean? If you're referring to the WSIWYG editor you get by default when replying, I've personally switched to 'source mode', which lets me break up quoted posts etc. This might be what you're talking about. This can be set this in your profile, with the tickbox at the bottom of this page:

Yes, you can edit posts. I think it's just the permissions in the 'NPVR Announcements' forums that disallowed edits here.

FYI, if the posts are showing the wrong time for you, you may need to set the timezone on this page, in the 'Date and Time Options' section:

All kinds of issues on 9/30, afternoon in US. First, it just didn't look correct. Then, I could not log in. Tried creating a new account, and that didn't work either. Tried a few minutes later, and the site was down. I assume that Sub and company know about this one, but wanted to make sure. Looked like maybe the server was hacked to me, but who knows?

Soon after switching everyone over to the new forum, I encountered a problem, and ended up having reload the data from the old forum, which had the server out of action for several hours (and unfortunately there were a handful of the most recent posts deleted during this process) . This is likely what you saw.

I tried to make sure things would go smoothly, but sometimes technology conspires against you...

Fingers crossed, it should all up and running correctly now.

Is there a "mark forums read" option? I can't seem to find it.

I'm not sure - it's not something I used with the old forum, so not something I've looked for.

I know you can do it on a forum-by-forum basis. On the forum list it has black circles on the left for forums with new posts. If you double click those, it marks all in that forum as read.

Yes, for example : NPVR Announcements    Mark this forum read | Subscribe to this forum

However, I don't see any "Edit reply" nor "Delete reply" Huh

Gee ... I am confused, I add a reply and it's merged with the previous one !

Hum I do see 'Edit this post' on my past posts, not in NPVR Announcements forum

Thanks, I don't see that in Firefox but it does show up in Chrome and Internet Explorer.  I'm using an older version of FF at work for security reasons (don't ask) but will check my home version which is up to date and see if that works for me.
