Just installed latest v5 for the first time, tired of fighting TvMosaic issues. Can client into server on same box both with browser and client app. Loaded NextPvr iOS app on AppleTv4k and it endlessly searches for the server.  Presume it uses broadcast and can't see server on a different subnet. Is there a way to setup the iOS app to a specific ip:port so it works?  I operate other servers/clients across two subnets without issue.

I did read it. I also stopped the NextPvrServer.exe with Ctrl+C.  Couldn't find that it loaded NextPvrService.exe, at least there is no NextPvr_xyz running in services.msc.  Then started the NextPvr app on an AppleTv4k after a reboot to ensure it would start a fresh scan.  Let it spin for a minute, no custom network settings screen ever appeared.  How long should I wait?  Am I missing something?

Thanks for confirming that. If you are manually running NextPVRServer.exe it won't be a services it will be a task. If you stop it with ctrl-c that is the same thing but you also have to make sure any v4 server is shutdown. Sub would have to explain how the Add option is supposed to work, it won't matter if it is v4 or v5.

Thanks Martin 4 ur response. Never installed v4. I did go ahead and pay the $7 to try the iPhone app. It's different than the AppleTv in that it has an ADD link on the top which reveals the ip/port fields. Tried the ip and port 8866 and no go. Is there a different port needed for the NextPvr client app than the one used for http?

It was the local Win10 firewall. I have never seen the auto-created rule work on the exe. Usually have to add a inbound port rule. So added TCP port 8866 and now iOS phone app connects. Now if I could figure out why the iOS Tv app won't quit scanning for a server on local subnet and display the ADD link so I could get it to connect which is where I need the client app to work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The locator service used to auto detect servers on the network uses UDP port 16891. Try adding an exclusion for that (or just allow NextPVRServer.exe network access)

@sub. I did a netstat -a and the only other listening port was 56844. I'll give your port a try.

Turned the firewall off, which is how I determined it was the firewall in the first place. AppleTv app still spins on "Searching for NextPvr Server". No change.

I think someone needs to test the AppleTv app and tell me how to make it work on a remote subnet. I'm trying NextPvr after giving up on TvMosaic who can't seem to get their apps working either. Been working with their support for a year and still a mess, so I landed here. Hopefully a better experience. :-)
