This afternoon I started watching GB vs Dallas NFL game with Kodi and NPVR v4 running. I had extended timeshift enabled. I initiated a recording from kodi so I could watch it this evening. When I wanted to watch the game later Kodi listed the recording and that it had a duration of 2:53:08. But it only played for a few minutes then stopped. I looked for the file in the recordings location where it should but there was nothing there. I found that what Kodi was playing what was left in the C:\temp folder on the NPVR server.

Any ideas what happened and why it failed? The recording started at 3:57PM (15:37) Kodi debug and NPVR logs attached

It is normal that it stays in the live tv folder and it should be there as

C:\temp\NFL Football_20191006_15371830.ts

What is the file size? Kodi is reporting 555325304

There should have been a file in the NPVR recording folder \TV Shows\NFL Football that was at least 2GB for the rest of the game.

Not in extended mode, it should have recorded the whole game and left it in the live tv buffer.

I rechecked for something after waking up and there seems to be a bug in timeshift mode NextPVR flipped over to regular timeshift with 6.3 minute segment using the EPG mode naming.

Code:

I expect this is a bug that sub won't be fixing since this mode is not available in v5

Are you referring to Extended Timeshift as not being available in v5?

If I use regular Timeshift in Kodi when I start a recording can I avoid this bug?

Thanks

Yes and yes.  With extended timeshift off NextPVR will start a new recording when you hit record.  You will lose any buffer which extended time shift normally should save.
