I have a maddening issue that I hope the very knowledgeable NPVR community can assist

The short version is I live overseas and use an AFN set top decoder box. For seven years, I have successfully used 92518 zip code with a Schedules Direct subscription to create the guide in NPVR.  About a month ago, three of my channels suddenly imported 8 hours ahead of the actually airtime. I have contacted SD, AFN, and Zap2it. But only SD returned a response and they said "your application needs to apply an offset."

If I understand correctly, it is either an AFN or Zap2it issue but neither is providing me corrective action. So I am wondering if NPVR has the ability to offset those three channels by 8 hours so my guide is accurate?

Thanks to all.

Do the times in your listing match what shows on https://tvlistings.zap2it.com when you pick the proper zip code and provider?

No, the listings are incorrect for those three channels. The AFN website schedule is accurate but I am pulling in the listings from Zap2it which are wrong - well, wrong for me anyway. I should be clear that the zip code I have used for 7 years is a Los Angeles Air Force Base. I honestly have no clue if it is accurate for them.

Assuming you are using the SD JSON service built into NextPVR, you can add the service you want on the SD website and get those 3 channels from the XML service using mc2xml or something similar. I'd use the UTC option for mc2xml first to see if that works. If it doesn't you probably need to preprocess the xmltv file to give you the offset you want.

I downloaded the xmltv file and I certainly see the problem with 3 channels prime spectrum and movies, it is not offset they are in the future so you would need a tricky batch file that downloaded it early and import it 8 hours later or you lose current programming. Then you would need to replace +0000 with -0800 for those three channels.

One other thing to try is another zip code in the same time zone and see if that one is any better. With SchedulesDirect you can have multiple lineups that will show up in NExtPVR, so you can choose the right one in NextPVR for the three channels. No guarantee that'll work, but it feels like it might be worth a try before going down the complicated batch file option.

Given that the SD and zap2it times for the AFN Satellite feed are wrong for these three channels I don't expect small AFN base cable listings will be any better. The best solution is to ask Tribune to fix the source.

I did ask SD about this, and they indicated they'd asked for a bit more info. It'd be worth following up with them - I'm sure they'll be able to help you resolve the issue.
