For some reason, the audio delivered to my computer from the set top box is quite a bit lower than all other applications. Does anyone else have this problem and is there some way to configure NextPVR to increase the volume close to everything else? I've tried making any adjustments in Window I can find that might do this, but even with max settings there is still a large discrepancy.

Can you turn up the volume on the STB? Some can, some can't.

I've looked for a way to do it in the STB configuration but I didn't see anything. I guess I'll look on the box for some way to do it physically, although I never noticed anything like that before. Maybe because I wasn't looking for it. I'd try calling the provider for help, but they make it so difficult to speak with anybody I usually just give up.

If you are talking the HDPVR there is a boost audio setting for the AAC analog capture. If it is the AAC feed make sure your 5:1 settings are correct.

I'm using a first gen Hauppauge Colossus with RCA inputs using the Arcsoft decoder for AAC. I have it set to 2 channel stereo. It looks like that decoder has a way to set EQ levels by enabling DSP. I'll give that a shot.

Check config.xml too and set this to true

<AudioEncoderAnalogBoost>false</AudioEncoderAnalogBoost>

I think this may be only for the HDPVR2 / Colossus2.

Volume buttons on the STB remote?

Nope. I changed everything I could find in the decoders to change the levels, and the config for the STB is already set to 100% volume. I guess that means I'll have to see about getting a replacement STB. Hopefully that will work. Thanks for the ideas.

If you're using SPDIF audio, you may find switching to HDMI or RCA audio helps.
