I was having a problem with NextPVR latest 4.xx release finding my tuner where I would have to rescan the channels to have make the tuner available. While playing with the settings I checked "use as a server" know when I try to load the program I get this error: Server database not found at:\\hushpc\npvr\npvr.db3
I uninstalled and reinstalled the software but the error persist. I even went into the Regedit and erased what I saw for nextpvr and that didn't help.
I must be missing something.
Any other ideas?
Thanks

You can turn it off in the c:\users\public\npvr\config.xml file. I’m not in front of my pc right now to check the setting name. You should be able to spot it though.

Sounds like you turned on "Act as client PC". You can find that setting at the bottom of the page by going to Settings -> Devices
Q9400 Core2Quad, 4GB RAM, Win10 Pro, Nvidia GT710, HDHomeRun Prime, NPVR 5.0.7
On a clear disk, you can seek forever...

Modifying XML file worked.now I can boot NextPVR. It would find my tuner, so I loaded WinTV 8.5 and the drivers for my HVR-1955 and then it was able to find the tuner, I loaded LAV decoders and I was able to do a successful channel. Now when I try to watch Live TV I get "unable to communicate with recording service". Should I uninstall WinTV? It fighting for the tuner? its not running at the moment but there could be a service in the back ground.

Maybe try rebooting. It's supposed to start the tuner with Windows. If it's still not working, post your logs.
