I think they let you have four lineups - can be from any zip code.

For IPTV, depending on the channels you're watching, you'd probably add a west coast city lineup, east coast city lineup and UK lineup.

Thanks. I'll give them another try. The availability of 14 day schedules was certainly attractive.

Zip and attach the logs and we'll check what happened. We can at least see if NextPVR tried to update the EPG at that time.

After closing NextPVR dialog and relaunching it, it updated the schedule.

But since I want the automatic update, I ran some tests and looked at the logs:

1- I changed the EPG update hour to 11:45, exited NextPVR, reloaded it and waited until 11:47 and did not see anything in the logs.

2- I changed the EPG update hour to 11:50, exited NextPVR, reloaded it and waited until 11:53 and did not see anything in the logs.

3- Restarted the NPVR recording service and then I saw this in the log:
2020-01-09 11:55:47.262 [DEBUG][10] Requesting wake up for 'EPGWAKEUP-backup' at 10/01/2020 11:50 AM
2020-01-09 11:55:47.265 [DEBUG][10] Requesting wake up for 'EPGWAKEUP' at 10/01/2020 11:50 AM
2020-01-09 11:55:47.265 [DEBUG][10] Next EPG update time: 10/01/2020 11:50 AM

4- I changed the EPG update hour to 11:59, Restarted the NPVR recording service and then I saw this in the log:
2020-01-09 11:57:58.511 [INFO][4] Starting remoting service (on port 8968)
2020-01-09 11:57:58.526 [DEBUG][10] Requesting wake up for 'EPGWAKEUP-backup' at 09/01/2020 11:59 AM
2020-01-09 11:57:58.526 [DEBUG][10] Requesting wake up for 'EPGWAKEUP' at 09/01/2020 11:59 AM
2020-01-09 11:57:58.526 [DEBUG][10] Next EPG update time: 09/01/2020 11:59 AM
...
2020-01-09 12:01:03.574 [DEBUG][10] Updating recording schedule
...

So I guess I need to restart the NPVR recording service if I change the EPG update hour.

I found in my case the time set on the web page was UTC and not honoring the pc's local time. Mine was set for 2:44 AM and I couldn't figure out why every evening at 9:48, whatever I was watching would freeze and I would have a difficult time getting Kodi running again for a few minutes. Perhaps you are not seeing the updates when you expect becasue of the time discrepancy?

That definitely shouldn't be the case.

Since you mention web page, it sounds like you're talking v5. Are you running the Docker version?

I am running version 5.1.0.201216 on Ubuntu. It isn't a big deal now that I figured out what was happening. The rest of the system as far as the guide and recordings are all on my local time. It was just the guide updating. But of course if you are watching NBA or NHL, 9:48 seems to be with 2 minutes left in the game, LOL.

I think sub's point is the time in the browser should show the same as the server. It sounds like there is a browser or workstation time issue involved.

It'll be something to do with the timezone settings or current time on your NextPVR server. (it's very easy to get this wrong with Docker, but certainly can be wrong on other platforms too)

Ultimately, it doesn't affect much, because NextPVR generally works in UTC behind the scenes, so recordings etc still work at the correct time. It's only an issue when trying to translate localtime <---> utc. (like when you've tried entering local times (for epg update times), and it's had to try converting them to utc)

Possibly (in v4) - but after that, the EPG update will automatically happen at that time.

You wont need to restart v5.

Just letting you know that it is still not updating automatically.  I gave up on it and just go in the settings -> channels and click 'update EPG' every week.

I guess I should install V5 but I am afraid I will have to redo my whole setup for it to work so I am still considering...
