First off, thanks for NextPVR - its great software! Next, I thank anyone willing to help with the issue I'm having.

I'm running a RaspberryPi 3 Model B with DietPi as the OS. I installed NextPVR as per the official instructions given here: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=59390 using the .deb file method. I was able to detect my HDHomeRun Connect Duo instantly and pick up/watch the channels. I'm also running my EPG grabber (zap2xml) from the same Raspberry Pi 3, and have managed to create a working xmltv.xml file for use. My issue is not being able to have NextPVR detect the xmltv.xml file. I am a Linux novice in every sense of the word, and figured it may be me not providing the correct format in the URL/File section of the NextPVR web interface. The file path is "/root/xmltv/xmltv.xml". However, when I use this for the file path, it does not detect it. I am unable to map any listing to the channels because there are none available. I have tested the file in the Windows 10 version of NextPVR and it works like a dream. It is not the content of the file itself. It appears to be either me not being able to specify the correct file/path format, some sort of weird permission issue, or something else. I'm hoping someone with more experience with Linux or their own setup/configuration of NextPVR can help me. Thanks again for any of your suggestions/assistance!

Your folder name choice is odd because typically "/root" is not used for general file storage it is a restricted folder. Typically when you create a folder in root that would mean / and not the restricted folder which is actually root root (perhaps related to the 49'ers this weekend)

I would start by creating the file in a world readable folder

Thank you for your suggestion - it made total sense! That was exactly my problem. Moving the folder to /home/dietpi resolved the issue. Thanks again! Happy Super Bowl!
