Deb installer error

I've been using NextPVR on Arch and everything works great. However, I decided to try out Mint Cinnamon today. Clean fresh install followed by update and upgrade prior to the following commands.

I literally finished installing mint 15 minutes ago then ran the commands. I had not downloaded any other version so I assumed it was version 1.3.

Oops I forgot to update one of my tests that makes sure I don't corrupt an install. When I was testing it earlier sub hadn't updated the server side.

I'll pass a new file to sub now. All updated.

Are you running an update if so you need to run

sudo dpkg -i nextpvr-helper.deb

Try that and give me the console messages.
