Hi,

I wondered if it is possible to use VPS (Video Programming System).
Some TV Stations send a signal when the show starts so You are invulnerable to delayed shows...

Does gbpvr have something similar?

As far as I know neither VPS nor PDC (Program Delivery Control) are supported. Then again, in the Netherlands the stations that do support PDC (i.e. the public stations) seem to have no problem starting and finishing programs on time. The big offenders in this respect are the commercial stations (notably Veronica...) and they don't support PDC. What I'm trying to say is that, at least in the Nederlands, VPS/PDC support will not do you much good. I don't know about Germany though.

Regards,

PDC (and its predecesoor VPS) use the same protocol as Teletext, By looking at the DirectShow Teletext APIS I don't expect there is an easy way to retrieve this information, but probably sub has a better view on this.

I usually set the pre/post padding to 5 minutes during recording and edit the MPG stream before viewing it.

More information on PDC can be found at http://625.uk.com/pdc/

PDC isnt in use here in New Zealand, so its not a feature I intend to implement.

sub, I know europe, asia and the US do not have as many people as NZ has sheep, but anyway: do not forget the non-kiwis...

Smile

I think reading the teletext could even work in NZ...
