Can't get started

Before I get too far involved I better ask for help.
I'm trying to do my first install of V5, using subs directions, "To install NextPVR on Windows, simply run https://nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup.exe."
It appears to download the files and starts to install, but it seems to just paint the green bar and hang telling me it's "Installing Files". I thought maybe I needed to be running WIN 10, but that acts the same way.
What am I doing wrong?

Found some manual instructions on the github page; is that how it needs to be installed?

No, this is a fresh WIN 10 build.

If you create c:\temp does it work? I know it creates an install.txt file there.

That didn't seem to make a difference.
Martin, don't bother with it right now; I don't want to waste your time.
Maybe sub will have the answer when he's awake.

It looks like the github instructions will get me going for now.
I just want to see if V5 is going to work for me.

When you run the installer is there a file in c:\temp called install.txt

Yes, and the last line says "installing files", but I waited more than 10 mins and it didn't change.

What else is in that file?

It should also list a InstallDirectory. Did it create that directory?
