How to install from the beginning

Hello,

Could someone help me out with a fresh install for someone who, lets assume, knows nothing.

I can't find anywhere basic instructions (and I do mean basic) for installing whatever combination of products/software are required so I can watch TV with a PVR on my TV. 
I have gone through all the Wiki's but they all make assumptions.


I have Nvidia Shield TV (the new one that looks like a tube) which is essentially Android TV.
I have an HDHomeRun box.
I have a TV.
I have a PC.
I have an antenna.
I have Kodi installed on my Shield TV.
I can watch live TV on my TV (with the HDHomeRun app on Shield).

That's all good.

What I want to do now is introduce the NextPVR component which is where it all goes pear shaped.

Do I need to install NextPVR on my PC?
Is the addon (sounds obvious typing this) now installed on Kodi?

Thank you to anyone for any help you can give me.

If I can get it going I'm going to do a nice easy to understand setup guide.

Yes NextPVR has to be installed but it doesn't have to be a Windows PC, it can be on many small boxes like an RPi, or Intel base NAS devices or other O/Ss too.

Installing NextPVR support for an HDPVR is quite but you would need to subscribe to Schedules Direct to get guide data.

If you don't want recordings and just want live tv in Kodi maybe checkout pvr.hdhomerun first and if that doesn't work for you come back.
