Sub,

It would be quite a good thing for me if you could implement a working WOL function for NPVR5 clients.  I know that there was some sort of WOL check box in NPVR4, but it never worked for me. I had to write a script that would execute a little program called "mc-wol.exe" before starting the client in Windows (server went to sleep if not being used).  If any client had that feature, it would be very convenient IMO.

Thanks!

The Kodi PVR addon and knewc UI client already support WOL It would be impossible to do this in browser clients so that probably means you are specifically thinking of Android and Apple clients An app will always be needed to use the browser remotely I think it is something you may need to get used to eventually.

That being said on my list of priorities getting power management working on Linux would be a higher priority so I could use the wol apps I have on Android which works well.

Martin,

I am aware that NEWC and Kodi does this. You are right, I am thinking of Windows and Android clients, I don't use Apple devices, but if I did, a WOL feature would be wanted there as well.

Not only would a raw WOL feature be nice, but a delay or wait feature once the WOL command was sent - in order to allow some time for the server to wake. Right now, in my scripts, once the WOL is sent, the script loops waiting to detect the presence of the db file on the server. Once it sees the db file, the script knows that the server is awake.
