Hi everyone

I'm having problems with my setup sadly and hoping for some help on it

when watching live tv or recordings i experience freezes and stutters and constant buffering

this is when using the kodi addon the NPVR website it was working perfectly but one day i started too experience issues it has been the same since it seems too be mainly 1080p content but it does happen when other times too i thought it was cpu problems HDD problems but looking on task manager it seems all too be fine

on another note I am also experiencing an issue with the server crashing and i have too reload NPVR server program this has been since the upgrade to V5 im not that worried about that atm but i would like too fix the major issue i am having it drives me crazy and makes watching TV impossible

Details on setup

Server OS: Windows server 2019
Tuner: Haunpeggue Quad HD Tuner
NPVR Version: 5.0.2.200322

I will add anything else that's needed

You actually provided little information of value logs are always needed. If the problem is with Kodi debug logs are also required we don't even know where your Kodi client is.

There shouldn't be any 1080p content so I assume you mean 1080i If that is the issue you would need to make sure h/w deinterlacing is enabled in the Kodi player.

If the server is crashing and needs restarts I would start there.

Please recreate the stuttering problem when playing a recording and then attach logs to a post telling us the time that you saw the stuttering so that we know where to look in the logs.  Thank you.

Does the stuterring occur when you play the recording on the machine that is running NextPVR Server?

Hi @mvallevand thanks for the reply
The problem happens no matter what i use

Kodi client on a different machine
NPVR android app
NPVR web browser

the server crashing is a new thing since the update too V5 the playback problem has been happening for alot longer than that i hoped V5 may solve the issue it didn't

and yes my mistake i must mean 1080i

Is drive E:  (that has the PVR folder) local to the NextPVR Server machine or is it mapped to a network drive?

Ok for the remote clienst are they wired or wifi?

For the browser and for the Android app (if you are not using Direct Play) then it might be a transcoding and then can certainly impact performance.

When you get the logs using the Settting web page to flush and download them and attach them ere.

For the Kodi problem the Kodi debug logs are required I don't understand what is going on with recordings. What kind of drive is your E Drive?

All my devices are wired i hate wifi i find it casuse more problems than it solves if it can use ethernet it does in my house i can give you more details on my network if you need it

The Android app is obviously WIFI

On the transcoding note yes i get that but kodi should be using direct play

and drive E is a SATA HDD WD Blue 2TB (dedicated too NPVR)
