One of our most critical features of NextPVR is the ability to use the 4 colored dots to flag recordings. We use them both to indicate which recordings each of us has watched (ultimately so that we know when it is safe to delete them) and also to indicate other statuses (Red=do not delete, Red+Yellow=recording from S1E1 rule, to keep recording series I need to add a series recording rule, Yellow=problem recording).

We use knewc on RPis running LE almost exclusively. So these work great. However, I would really like to have the 4 colored dot support implemented on all of the NextPVR clients. I would especially like this on the new web client interface since that can be accessed remotely to tag recordings if they are watched via another method (such as online streaming from the network website).  It would also be nice from the iOS client on my phone or iPad.

This is a unique feature to NextPVR so it could not easily be done with Kodi pvr-nextpvr, and would not be supported by Emby or jellyfin so only sub's client could support this.

The S1E1 rule is rather specific to users who have a rule to record by your rule, and this can be achieved by looking at all recordings for a recurring recording which to me seems more practical. Kodi already has this and it works well.

Kodi pvr.nextpvr also already moves Failed Recordings and Conflicts to special folders for review.

The other thing I feel is this is a workaround for the fact that NextPVR doesn't support multiple users. I better future approach would be to add support for user profiles. I understand this is a big change. The advantage is multiple resume points and not just knowing whether a file can be deleted.

I understand that other 3rd party end user interfaces which are accessing NextPVR as a backend won't be able to support this if they don't natively support similar functionality. I was just referring to NextPVR clients developed/supported by sub.

And I agree that it would be great to have multiple user support (although that would be problematic when we both watch shows together). But that would be a MAJOR change to NextPVR. My sense is that adding support (particularly in the new web client) wouldn't be that much of a change.

Just to be clear, I was listing those examples of how we currently use the dots for added functionality. I wasn't saying that NextPVR would/should include support for setting them that way automatically.
