Continuing to have lost recordings and other odd behavior NextPVR/Kodi

I am continuing to have weird behavior that seems to have started a few days ago (after some experiments with USB tuners) and is still continuing. I previously mentioned the thought of cleaning things out or otherwise just reinstalling from scratch. But, for now, here are the logs (from nrecord.log) of the odd behavior, in case it might help.

2020-05-13 17:00:00.044 Attempted to start WHADT recording for one hour...nothing else going on that I know of...failed with "System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out." and no recording was made.

2020-05-13 17:30:00.195 Did start a successful recording on WKOW

2020-05-13 18:02:45.399 Should have started WHADT recording at 18:00 but something failed at 18:02 (?) and eventually started at 18:04 and recorded the rest

2020-05-13 19:00:00.297 Tried to start WHADT recording, but for some reason delayed until 19:01...then it seemed to work

2020-05-13 19:44:16.522 trying to start WKOW stream while recording on WHADT was taking place...to test if second tuner was working. Yesterday, it was...There was no result or error in Kodi on this attempt.

There are other "Net.WebException" messages from earlier attempts (previous days), but I didn't record the details at the time on what was going on.

I wanted to keep this in the right place...

I did a NextPVR reinstall, and (pending testing), things look a lot better. All channels are coming through (including 3.1). I can record and then look at another channel (so both tuners are working). Still need to test if I get early stops to recordings with the "System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out." error...hopefully not.

But my question is whether I can recover pointers to my existing recordings stuck away in my recording directory. I see a new recording in there (with the old), and that one shows up on the NextPVR page, but the old recordings don't show up. I'm sure the /var/opt/nextpvr/recording-backup.xml's from before the install have been fully purged...so it may be a lost cause, and actually not really critical. But if there is an easy way (famous last words)...please let me know...

If you'd keep recording-backup.xml, you could have reimported from it. You're probably out of luck without it.

Looks like I can play the .ts mpeg2 video files directly on Ubuntu with just a double-click (probably using vlc) as long as the appropriate codec is installed. So, if I really want to see them, that's the way. Probably nothing useful to be done with the associated .xml files. I suppose I could find a conversion utility and see about re-importing to NextPVR...don't know why I keep looking for more time-consuming challenges...

VideoConduit isn't for linux. My import program will run on linux but I am waiting for more feedback from people that know NextPVR before offering it to new users.

Just an update on the Ubuntu 18.04 NextPVR reinstall...everything has been working as expected and as it was about a week ago. So some joy!
