I set a show to record EVERYTHING, no matter what, come back later, and the boxes aren't red?! So I manually hit each episode to record individually, and IT HAD BETTER STICK. If there's some REASON, it would be nice to tell me: I  have enough tuners..as I said, I don't care about duplicate repeats, record it anyway..I have plenty of space..the guide is working fine..  This also appears to happen occasionally on my Tivo, weirdly.

You didn't post any logs so we can only speculate. My guess would be that you've got "Avoid duplicate recordings where possible" selected.

Nope, it's unchecked. And they're not duplicate, anyway- the listings are definitely separate episodes that haven't aired before. I also tried "match the first part of the title." But I will have to find the logs, hadn't gone that deep yet. Had to get a crash course in a Windows media center replacement since earlier this year. Held onto Windows 7 for that reason alone..but 10 does suck, too.

Get us the logs and we should be able to help you. You also didn't specify what you're using for the guide data. Since you're in the US (according to your profile), you definitely should be using Schedules Direct. While you can use other mechanisms/sources, you will end up spending more time and getting frustrated because features won't work as well, etc. If you aren't using Schedules Direct, it's possible that your guide source is making the instances appear to be the same one.

Do an update epg, then post the logs, along with the name / times of a couple of shows you think should have been marked red, and we'll check why not.

I did finally get Schedules Direct. XMLTV was working OK..but recently the channel assignments went haywire. I think I see what the problem is now: I _DO_ have series set to record, but for some reason, the boxes are NOT being highlighted in red! It's freaking me out. But I guess I have to just trust that I DID set the schedule and go to the directory and see it being created..

Do you want the zipped log, or a specific file?

I wouldn't trust it if wasn't red.

You need the zipped logs and tell us the name of a recording that isn't red.
