I couldn't use in the prior release, since no manual ip add til now, so not sure if this is new problem. Using the iPhone remote app or iPhone native remote, while in TvGuide, scrolling is run-away. Soon as I swipe down into the guide and try to navigate to a program the scroll runs out of control to the bottom of the screen. Can kind of navigate around but it has a mind of its own. Very hard to get on the program I want, and tap to select, before it moves off to another program. When it runs off the beep goes into a repeating beep as the selection runs all the way to the bottom or top of the screen and keeps beeping til the app is closed. Does it on both IPTV tuner, with any group, and the OTA tuner. Not sure if it does this with the original remote as it broke a few months ago. Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't seen that, but I don't really swipe on the guide. If you press touch the remote, then drag and hold in the direction you want to go, it should start moving slowly then speed up. Does that work any better for you?

The apple remote is fairly painful to work with, and it's hard to get a nice behaviour out of it.

Well kind of works better, I see what you mean. I guess I expected navigation to be like the iPhone app. You have to swipe to scroll. With this app if you slide to the right/left/up/down it will auto-scroll until your finger is lifted. Makes scrolling a long way easier, which isn't needed much, but small movements are quite tricky. Have to swipe a bit then immediately lift your finger "every time" or goes into run-away mode. If it's auto scrolling and then you lift but accidentally tap too quick it will begin playing a show where the scrolling happened to be, then while the unintended show is playing I can still hear the constant scroll beeping mixed with the show audio. Stop the show and it goes back to the guide still scrolling away and beeping. Takes a bit of careful tapping to get it to stop scrolling without selecting another unintended show. No other app I've tried navigates like this one, i.e. GseIptv, iPlayTv, MrMc, etc.

Personally I think it would be better if it scrolled, like the iPhone app, where you slide your finger less or more to move one position or several respectively. And if more scrolling is needed you pick up your finger and move back to the left side of remote pad and swipe right more, for example, or basically rapid swipe repeatedly for fast scrolling. Again not sure how the app behaves with the original "slippery fish" remote.

FYI, something I recently noticed, was that if you do a light tap on the left/right/top/box side of the remote touch pad, it'll step once in that direction.

I know the TV guide control is definitely a bit awkward to navigate, and I'll try to improve it further. This is the one place where I couldn't really use any of the default apple controls, so you're having to interact with a custom control, and I had to try implement all the behaviour myself, and the remote makes that very difficult.

If an edge tap moved one position that would be great. For me it selects the show no matter where I tap the pad. Takes some getting used too. Short swipes seem to work best to move one position as it assures the finger isn't on the pad too long. Trying to move two or three positions often results in auto-scroll. The duration when auto-scrolling begins is rather short so it doesn't give much time to lift the finger off the pad. If I could point to the simplest change it would be to lengthen the time 2x before auto scroll. Next would be to disable auto-scroll. And, of course, a separate edge tap function would be nice. Still very pleased I can manually find the server. Again thanks for all your work on this. Nice not having to airplay "in progress" shows and use the native app like NextPvr was intended.  Smile

Dont actually press the pad, just touch it gently.

Does your version of the remote have a touch pad that moves? ie, mine I can press, and it goes click.I can look at it side on, and see the pad move in when I do this. I have to do that press to have it select the show, and show it's details.

If I instead just touch the pad, without pressing it, it does the arrow behaviour, without selecting it.

I checked my other Apple TV, which had a slightly different remote (with white circle around one of the buttons) and it behaved the same way. I could press for select, or just touch (without press) for arrow key behaviour.

Ahhh, so you're using a 3rd party physical remote. Sounds like it operates much like the original glass remote that comes boxed with the Atv4K. The iPhone apps don't move when tapped. I'm sure your very busy, I mentioned this in my initial post, "Using the iPhone remote app or iPhone native remote...", "Not sure if it does this with the original remote as it broke a few months ago." Maybe I'll have to buy one, suggestions?
