Hi,

It was mentioned in this thread: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid542712 that there was a version of the KODI addon available that would support playback of  in progress recordings.

I'm happy to test that on one of my Windows clients with KODI 18.7 and an NPVR server running version 4.2.5.

Actually sub and I only tested this update with v5 so no guarantees that in-progress works with v4 too but I will be happy to hear your results.

Unzip the appropriate Windows version and then install from zip windows-x86_64 is 64 bit windows-i686 is 32 bit.

Ok, my results are:

After enabling the addon, I start Kodi and get 'Loading channels from clients, and then it gets half way through 'Loading timers from clients' and Kodi crashes.

Here are some Kodi logs if you're interested.

Yes like I figured, I see that sub added a field for v5 and I wasn't aware of the change and but I was was using it anyway. Matrix was also handling it better so I never checked in Leia. That is one of the joys of using closed source API's with no documentation or version history.

Unfortunately yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 2004 and it broke VS 2017 and VS 2019 and reverting isn't helping so I am SOL right now. I took a chance and pushed the fix without compiling and thankfully the compile worked so maybe have a try with this new one https://jenkins.kodi.tv/blue/organizatio.../artifacts

You can just extract pvr.nextpvr.dll from the zip and overwrite the "bad" one if Kodi isn't running.

That seems to be working quite well. I was able to play back an in progress recording and I could see the duration growing. The only issue I encountered was that while catching up to live via a small skip forward (right arrow) works ok and playback continues, a large skip forward (up arrow) results in playback ending, and without a resume point, so you have to start watching again from the beginning of the recording.

If this is something you do often I recommend you read this https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_aut...ume_points and consider using 0 for

<ignorepercentatend>0</ignorepercentatend>

Otherwise if you or the client stops within the default 8% of a recording in progress the resume point won't get saved.

That would help, but it would be better not to get dumped out of playback at all. I can probably remember not to use large skips when I'm close to catching up to live, but I'm not sure if I can train the rest of the household to do this.

Any idea why short skips just take you to live and long skips end playback?

I only really tested with the skip options https://kodi.wiki/view/Skip_steps are you saying you use the up/down keys. I never test these.
