I would like to know how to manage the recordings, I notice considerable differences depending on how they are started.
I understand that it is not a priority thing but I would like to point out the following for any improvements to this function.

1) by CTRL-K from EPG:
being EPG useless in IT (not or poorly managed and useless to update) all items are "(no show details)", so that is the name for recording and going to Update there is no way to change neither the Name nor the Time (it assumes from 1 to 30 minutes depending from the time it has been started, see att.)

output file example: "(no show details) _2020-06-19_18301900.ts"
Is there any way to handle the problem?

2) by Ctrl-K from LiveTV:
after Ctrl-K we get a recording window from wich only Time is editable (not even the name), then going to MainMenu>Recordings>Pending Recordings we can change the Time and the Name too (see att.NPVRscr2) but the .ts stored file remain with the "Default" initial name

output file example: "Manual Recordings\Default_2020-06-19_17401840 "

3) by Man-Rec:
here we can change Name and Time and the stored file gets OK
output file example: "Manual Recordings\myname_2020-06-19_17501900.ts"

Finally, to conclude the argument, the ideal would be the classic "fire" red-button on the command bar in the pop-up window to quickly start/stop a recording.
It is a very useful function, commonly present in this kind of programs, which allows you to record a TV program while you are watching it.
Normally, it is also possible to change the duration of the recording already started and in progress if the default is insufficient.

NextPVR is designed to be used with an EPG ... and the EPG provides the show names (and the filenames).  Is fixing the EPG the best solution to your problem?

Do you get your EPG from the over the air broadcast from the antenna?  Does this fail to get EPG data from some channels?  What happens on a real TV for these channels?  Does a real TV get EPG data for channels that do not get EPG data in NextPVR?

What happens if you increase the value of EPGScanSeconds in config.xml?

Schedules Direct says that Italy is a supported region. So your best/easiest solution is probably to get a trial membership for SD and test it out. In addition to get quality schedule data, it should include channel and show artwork which is accurate and fast.

By saying "being EPG useless in IT (not or poorly managed and useless to update)" I mean to say that in IT it is "poorly managed" and the information on the following schedules does not appear well in advance, therefore it is impossible to schedule a recording with even a few hours of advance via EPG and I said "useless to update" in NPVR.
The following photo is an example (taken at 15:24).

I would consider trying Schedules Direct to get complete data. Someone posted about an app for NextPVR that creates XMLTV in many countries https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=58945 but for the a couple of euro/dollars a month the Schedules Direct option is so well integrated it is a bargain.

Forgive me if you already know all this ...

NextPVR reads the EPG data from the broadcast stream when the Update EPG button is clicked (Settings -> About) and when the Automatic EPG Update is done (Settings -> Guide).  NextPVR does not find or update EPG data at any other time.

My NextPVR does an Automatic EPG Update at 4 o'clock every morning ... Would you get "no information" for some shows if you did an EPG Update at 4 am every morning?

Plus ... Does WebrabPlus give good data for Italy? ... http://www.webgrabplus.com/epg-channels#stc_1F

I clarify further: the attached screen is an example of what is received on the TV (little or nothing and only what is going on or immediately after), the same by TVGuide by NPVR.
Personally, I am not a TV fanatic and I am not interested in being constantly updated on the programs that, moreover, I can learn about in other ways, I use setting up the recording only when I know there will be an interesting broadcast and I will be busy on something else.
It can also happen that I am watching a program and suddenly have the need or pleasure to record it.
For this reason, I have tested all possible ways of registering and I have found those reported limits. Are they solvable? If yes, well ... if not, patience!

Apologies ... I can see now that it is a picture of the TV ... my mistake.

NextPVR struggles without good EPG data ... Perhaps Sub has a suggestion

In the UK we are perhaps lucky in that our broadcasters can give us 1 weeks advanced EPG data over the air either from Terrestrial or Satellite.
This makes it relatively easy to use the EPG to programme recording.

Elsewhere (e.g.USA) where the OTA EPG data is only one or two hours ahead (Now & Next programme), most people seem to use Schedules Direct to get a good EPG listing.

I do think trying Schedules Direct would make your life a lot easier.

It is also not just your life, it is our life especially sub's. How many hours of work do you think it will take sub to code these change because you don't want to spend a few euro? He is also redoing the playwe so I suggest this is more a consideration for the next version. NextPVR has been around for a long time and this is not a common request because a PVR needs guide data.

For ctrl-k NextPVR is designed for a remote where you can hit a record button. Some MCE keyboards might have one too.
